I cannot remember the first time I heard about blogging but I do remember thinking that it was something I was just not ready to dive into at the time. Then in 2007, at the Closing the Gap Conference in Minneapolis, MN I attended a full-day presentation which focused on the potential Web 2.0 tools in assistive technology training. On that day, I created a Blogger account and struggled to write my first blog entry. I left the conference thinking that perhaps I had reached the right time in my journey to launch my blog and publish my thoughts on the Web. But, upon returning home, I jumped back into my role as a special education consultant for Rocky View Schools and just didn’t seem to find the time. Now, as I have spent more time reading other educators’ blogs and realized the potential of this tool, I have decided it is time to make the commitment and share my own thoughts and learning with the community. My intent is to focus on my experiences with Assistive Technology for Learning (ATL) and Universal Design for Learning (UDL) but I am sure that I will occasionally stray off topic and post some random thoughts…I welcome your comments and look forward to the conversations.
